Rick Gray

Rick Gray leads and manages globally Hudson’s brand strategy, marketing and corporate communications functions, working closely with the front-line operational leadership, sales and client service teams in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia/New Zealand to help distinguish and grow the business.

Gray has more than 30 years of professional experience in brand positioning, marketing, communications and corporate identity work – on both the corporate and agency sides – with particular expertise in creating and leveraging intellectual capital to effectively position, promote and build strong global brands in the professional services, consulting, technology and related business-to-business fields.

Rick joined Hudson Highland Group in May of 2003 from Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide where he led the company’s work for the U.S. Midwest practice of leading global accounting and tax services firm Deloitte & Touche. Previously, Gray was the vice president of marketing and communications at Lante Corporation, a publicly held internet/web consulting boutique based in Chicago. Prior to that, he was the global director of public relations for A.T. Kearney, at that time the global management consulting arm of systems integration and outsourcing leader EDS.

Earlier in his career, Rick spent more than six years at Hill and Knowlton, where he was an officer and head of the global PR firm’s Midwest Advanced Technology Practice, serving clients such as Technology Solutions Company, Apple Computer, Ameritech, U.S. Robotics (3Com) and Covia (United Airlines’ reservation system subsidiary).

Gray, a long-term member and former board director of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), earned his bachelor of arts degree in journalism and sociology from Trinity University (San Antonio, TX) in 1978. He has frequently spoken on branding, marketing and communications issues to the Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA), National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and other professional associations. Additionally, he has served as an expert panelist for major recruitment industry forums such as the annual Staffing Industry Analysts Executive Forum and CareerBuilder’s National Sales Conference.
